We lit up our iconic Liverpool head office to mark this week’s GroceryAid Day.

The multi-coloured lighting up of the historic Royal Liver Building in the heart of Liverpool city centre is a high-profile way to celebrate GroceryAid’s support of colleagues working in the grocery industry.

GroceryAid has been providing free and confidential emotional, practical and financial support to anyone who works in the grocery sector, since 1857. Its support is also available to colleagues, their partners and dependants.

Support can include non-repayable financial grants, debt advice, carers support, counselling support, online health and wellbeing guides, plus legal advice.

Siwan Smith, Princes’ Inclusion and Diversity Manager, said: “We thought lighting up the Royal Liver Building would be an eye-catching way for us to demonstrate our support for GroceryAid, a charity which does so much good for those working in the grocery sector.

“The grocery sector is one of the largest sectors in the UK, one that touches the lives of everyone whether they are working in the industry or depending on the products being manufactured and sold in our shops or online. It was a sector that came to the fore during the pandemic often in the most testing of circumstances.

“We are delighted to be a Bronze Supporter, but our stated aim is to progress to becoming a Gold Supporter.

“We are currently taking several steps towards further strengthening our partnership with GroceryAid and look forward to working ever more closely with this hugely important charity which does so much good for people working in grocery and their families.”
