Following the success of last year’s Engineering Apprenticeship and our Commercial Graduate Scheme, we’re pleased to be offering two more places on our Engineering Apprenticeship this September.

The four-year apprenticeships are open to anyone over the age of 18 and post A’ Levels and they will incorporate site-based learning as well as on the job.

Successful applicants will start their placements in September 2024 and be based in either our Erith or Belvedere EOL sites.

Shortlisted applicants will progress to a telephone interview, following which successful candidates will be invited to attend an assessment centre at our Belvedere site.

The starting salary is subject to age, and you will also receive a Shift Allowance.

Details of the Apprenticeship

Year 1 – The first year of the apprenticeship programme is spent completing ‘off the job’ training at an MGTS Technical Centre (Coventry or Redditch) learning core practical, theoretical and behavioural skills.

Year 2 – In Year 2 apprentices return to the workplace to continue their learning whilst attending MGTS on a day release basis to complete the necessary educational requirements for the programme.

Year 3&4 – Years 3 and 4 see a continuation of learning in the workplace. Learners will focus on what is expected from the End Point Assessment and undergo mock assessments in preparation for completing the actual assessment in the final months of their apprenticeship.

In order to be eligible for the apprenticeship, students must be able to prove that they have the following qualifications:

• We would love to hear from you if you have, or are predicted to gain, 5 x GCSEs (or equivalent)
• Grades must be A*-C / 9-5 for Maths and A*-C / 9-4 for English, a Science and two other subjects.
