Princes awarded Gold at GroceryAid Awards in recognition of industry support

We’re incredibly proud to have won a Gold Award for the second year running at this year’s GroceryAid Awards, underscoring our ongoing commitment to supporting colleagues and welfare initiatives across the grocery industry.

The GroceryAid Awards are an annual programme run by GroceryAid, the UK grocery industry’s central charity, which has provided financial, emotional and practical support to grocery workers and their families since 1857.

The awards recognise companies that go above and beyond to raise awareness of the charity, fundraise for its work and volunteer time or expertise to support its mission. Organisations can earn Bronze, Silver or Gold status depending on the breadth of their activities across these pillars.

We were awarded Gold, a significant milestone, which reflects sustained activity across all award categories during the year, including employee engagement, charity fundraising and promoting access to GroceryAid’s support services.

Siwan Smith, Inclusion & Diversity Manager at Princes Group, also serves as Chair of the D&I in Grocery LIVE! steering group. The events forms a significant part of the wider D&I in Grocery programme which contributes £1 million each year to GroceryAid.

Siwan said: “We’re so proud to be recognised once more for our commitment to supporting colleagues across the grocery industry.

“Looking after our people is central to our values, and we are proud to play our part in ensuring help is available to anyone in the grocery sector who may be facing difficult times.

“This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication, compassion and collective effort of our teams and colleagues across Princes.”

Kieran Hemsworth CEO of GroceryAid, said: “Throughout the last year and heading into 2026 our aim is to grow the industry awareness of GroceryAid. As awareness spreads throughout our industry, we can help more colleagues and their families through difficult times.”

The GroceryAid Awards continue to grow in participation each year, with hundreds of organisations being recognised for supporting the charity’s work, helping GroceryAid reach more colleagues across the sector with vital support services.
