Long Sutton is our largest food production site in the UK
At Long Sutton, we produce a range of canned products including baked beans, vegetables, fruit, pulses, pasta and meatballs.
The factory, located in rural Lincolnshire, has been in the Princes portfolio since 2011 and is home to the Canning Excellence Programme.
In 2020, we completed the second phase of our £80m investment in Long Sutton.
The installation of a hydrostatic cooker/sterilizer – using one of the UK’s largest mobile cranes – further advanced a two-year project at the plant.
Work on the site also included the development of a new raw material warehouse and handling facility, an ingredients processing kitchen and a flexible production line for canned ready meals.
It is a major purchaser of locally-grown British produce from independent agricultural farms for branded and customer own-brand products and employs over 540 people along with additional agency and contractor staff.
Long Sutton, which is our largest food production site in the UK, produces a wide range of can sizes to meet customers’ needs: from 200g cans up to 3kg cans.
