Our ambient manufacturing site
Located in Durham, we have around 50 employees working on and around the wet meal’s facilities.
Our wet ambient manufacturing site is based on the edge of the beautiful Durham dales.
Here we make delicious sauces, gravy, soups, grains, custards, meal solutions, puddings and so much more. Our products cover many categories and needs: we could be manufacturing military rations on Monday and delicious custards on Tuesday.
Production involves a retort which is a pressurised vessel used in the food manufacturing industry. It commercially sterilises food after it has been packed into its container and the container has been sealed airtight.
As a site we focus on the ambient category as well as delivering simple, honest and good food.
Did you know?
- Consett is our wet meals facility and where we make our sauces, gravy, soups, grains, custards and meal solutions.
- We also make ration packs for the UK Armed Forces.
- Our site is 10,800 square metres in size and we employ 43 people.
- We use retort processing, a method in food manufacturing which utilises a pressurised vessel to commercially sterilise food once it’s in its sealed container.
- We recently installed two new kettles and an automated sleeving packaging machine.
