A group of Princes colleagues has taken part in a charity challenge in memory of a much-loved colleague.
Former Sales Director Justin Hammond, who worked at Princes HQ in Liverpool, was only 50 when he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.
Since then, a number of his friends, colleagues and customers have raised money in his name for the MND Association.
Fresh from completing a 10-mile row across Lake Windermere in support of GroceryAid, Princes colleagues John Owen and Adam Norcott were joined by Andrew Payne to take on a new endurance challenge.
The three-strong team participated in the Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge 2026, a demanding endurance event in the Peak District made of three major sections: mountain trekking, kayaking and biking – all completed over nine hours. Each team raises money for their chosen charity and we did it in support of the MND Association.
John said: “Justin is fondly remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him which is why we wanted to raise money and awareness for such a truly worthy cause.
“The Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge is about more than the event, it’s about the people who take part, the teams who support them, the volunteers who make it happen and the charities who benefit.
“It’s the first time Princes has competed in the challenge and it was far tougher than we all thought. You’re fully off-grid, mobile phones are banned and each team is given an Ordnance Survey map and a compass for navigation.
“Over the course of nine hours you have to plan your route, find various checkpoints and work together to collect points across a demanding course with breathtaking views. It was brutal but good fun and brilliant to raise money for a cause so close to all our hearts.”
