We have transformed the working space at our Liverpool head office.
We have created more collaborative areas including relaxed meeting areas, dedicated ‘hot’ offices and project rooms in the iconic Royal Liver Building, where we are base.
Some of the project rooms have been named after Princes’ brands such as Napolina and Branston, while further rooms include People Excellence, Innovation and Heritage, the latter recognising the company’s connection with Liverpool which extends back to 1880.
Existing meeting rooms have been named after some of Liverpool’s historic dockland areas including King’s Dock, Queen’s Dock, Duke’s Dock, Albert Dock and Stanley Dock.
A particular highlight is the naming of the new social area, ‘The Hammond Hub’ in memory of Princes’ former Sales Director Justin Hammond who died from Motor Neurone Disease aged 50 in January this year.
The investment will enable Princes to provide the ideal environment for its hybrid working policy with colleagues now typically working two days a week in head office.
Under the revamp, every colleague retains a dedicated desk with members of the Board now sitting with their teams, thereby increasing visibility and fostering greater levels of collaboration.
Joe Dent, Princes’ Chief People Officer, said: “We have undertaken a significant refurbishment of our office space at RLB, recognising that hybrid working changes the reasons why colleagues come to the office.
“We have looked at how we can better use the space we have to improve the look and feel as well as demonstrating how the business has moved on culturally in a post-Covid world.
“The waterfront offices on the 5th floor of RLB have been completely repurposed to include a suite of branded collaboration spaces along with ‘hot’ offices for visiting colleagues, dedicated project rooms, quiet spaces and sociable lounge areas. We even asked colleagues to come up with a name for our Board room – the Fish Tank.
“All of the remaining space on both floors have had a fresh lick of paint, moving from beige to white with blocks of blue and red, thereby capturing the Princes branding and injecting some additional personality highlighting our proud heritage, diversity of brands and exciting future.
“We are also especially delighted to have been able to recognise the memory of our much loved and much missed colleague Justin Hammond.”
The new-look space was officially opened to colleagues at RLB today.
The refurbishment programme comes just weeks after Princes announced six new Strategic Imperatives under the brand identity ‘Growing Together’ enabling the company to continue meeting the requirements of a fast paced and constantly evolving market.
The imperatives include Creating a Winning Culture and Driving a Customer Centric Business, both of which will benefit from the new-look, more collaborative working environment at RLB.
